Play Date Cafe Challenge #179

Welcome back! I have to apologize for my lack of interesting posts (other than my weekly challenge posts) lately. I have been quite busy and feeling like I am just barely treading water, so to speak! I am really looking forward to the summer in a few weeks, when I will finally have a chance to relax and breathe a bit.

This week, we have a beautiful color story for you:

Our sponsor this week is The Twinery!  I just love all their twine in such fun colors!

I made an art journal page:

I was inspired by this page by Donna Downey. I was going to add more, but decided to stop myself and make it a more simple page. Upon reflection, I do like the result!

Be sure to stop by The Play Date Cafe for complete challenge information, and find out how you can win a prize from The Twinery!

Play Date Cafe #178

Hello and welcome to my entry for Play Date cafe challenge number 178!  It's a bright and beautiful spring color story:

Here's my card:

I used a stamp from our generous sponsor this week, CAS-ual Fridays!  This card is about as "CAS" as I can go :)  It's hard to tell in the photo, but the stamp is actually embossed with black embossing powder. I love how it stands out.
I borrowed inspiration from this card (found on pinterest) I used washi by Freckled Fawn and Queen and Co, and Color Shine by Heidi Swapp (the splats), and some fabric flowers. The twine is from The Twinery.

Be sure to check out The Play Date Cafe blog for complete challenge information!  You could win a prize from CAS-ual Fridays!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #177

It's that time again! Check out this week's color story from The Play Date Cafe:

I think these colors are just so happy and fresh, and perfect for the start of spring here. I am so glad that the weather is finally warming up!

Here's my take on the palette:

I felt like doing an art journal page! The flower is made using a stencil from Crafter's Workshop. The letters are a Thickers alpha, and I also used a Tim Holtz stamp for the text you see in the background.

It is quite rainy around here, so I couldn't get a good "natural light" shot, but hopefully it still looks ok!

This week, our sponsor is the incomparable Simon Says Stamp!
You could win a gift certificate!

Thanks for stopping by! See you next week!

Play Date Cafe #176

Hello everyone! I am so excited to bring you this week's challenge from The Play Date Cafe!  This week we are using these gorgeous neutral tones:

And, our sponsor is the amazing Jenni Bowlin Studios! I have been a fan of hers for a long time, so it was so awesome to be able to use some of her stamps on this project.

I think tags may be one of my most favorite things to make. I used background paper by DCWV, some corrugated cardboard (recycled from a package), a few recollections pieces, a wood veneer arrow by Freckled Fawn, and a fabric flower I found at a local store: Small Studio. I just visited there for the first time and it was soo full of goodies, I loved it!

And, of course I used this stamp from Jenni Bowlin!

My kitties loved this tag, too. I had it sitting out for less than 5 minutes, before I was going to photograph it, and they dragged it away :)

If you love Jenni Bowlin, then be sure to stop by The Play Date Cafe challenge blog for complete information on how to enter the challenge, and find out how you could win a great prize!
