Mona is definitely one of my mixed media heroes, and her work is what originally inspired me to take part in this type of color challenge. So it is quite an honor to use her products for this one! Take a look at the colors:
I used a number of My Favorite Things products, including:
MFT MPD Distressed Background Blocks (stamps)
MFT MPD Square Motif Stencil
I am a definitely stencil junkie, and I just loved how these ones were perfect for art journaling (although I think they would be great for a CAS project too!)
I used the dot stencil with green paint on a makeup sponge (you can see the circles in the upper left hand and lower right hand corners).
I used the square motif one with modeling paste, and I wasn't sure how it would turn out, because in the past I had only used modeling paste with thicker stencils, but here it worked perfectly! I really love the result, it adds so much texture. (You can see where I used it just to the bottom/left of the fabric flower). It's a bit hard to see in the photos, but it looks great in person.
And the doily stencil was the first I used on the page, so it is very hard to see in the final result since it got mostly covered up. I used a Tim Holtz Distress Paint Dauber through the stencil.
I also used the orange paint dauber on the distressed dots stamp. I like that result a lot, you can see it just above the fabric flower.
Well, that's about it, I hope you enjoy, because I sure enjoyed making it!
